Hello, I’m Ankita ︎
I am a curator based in London, with roots in Kolkata and Singapore. My work reframes curating as a process of building long-term relationships and creating non-hierarchical spaces of gathering and collaboration. I am interested in community-making practices, and how everyday acts such as conversation and storytelling, cooking and eating together, and sharing music and movement, create legitimate opportunities for knowledge-sharing. Currently I’m working on Adda, a publication series documenting intimate conversations with cultural workers, and I’ve previously led curatorial projects with Goldsmiths CCA, Deptford X, and Chisenhale Studios. I also work at the School of Traditional Arts in London, where I am developing my understanding of craft traditions across different cultural contexts, and how they are carried across generations through deep practice and embodied learning.
